Feeling Frustrated and Miserable In Life? Let This Feeling Propel You To Higher Levels

I am one to advocate that emotions are meant to be felt and understood. Not ignored nor treated as if they are just “emotions”. Our emotions are an indicator of where we are in life. Just like a thermometer measures the body temperature, our emotions measure how our soul is doing. It is an indicator of whether we are aligned with what our soul wants. With this said, if you are feeling frustrated and miserable in life, rather than ignore these feelings, allow them to propel you to a higher level in life.

When feeling frustrated and miserable, don’t take this out on others. Don’t go walking around feeling and acting miserable (this in itself is pitiful and attracts more situations that will make you more miserable). Rather, question where this misery is coming from and do something about it. Continuously feeling miserable isn’t going to do anything to change your situation. It is understanding and taking action what is going to make the difference. I advocate understanding oneself but when trying to make changes in your life, understanding alone won’t help. You need to take action as well in order to see those changes. Don’t expect situations to change. Don’t expect others to change. You must change. Allow that frustration and misery to be the fuel that will give you the courage to make those changes. I know first hand that changes can be scary and that taking action can feel uncomfortable but it is a must.

Part of well-being is making adjustments when things are not conducive to our overall health. Although complaining can be healthy because it helps release some of that emotion, complaining all the time about the same thing and not doing anything about it is useless. What’s the use complaining about something that you’re not doing anything about it to change?! It’s useless because the situation will never change unless you take action and constantly complaining robs energy from you that you can utilize to take action. I would like to clarify that there’s nothing wrong with complaining. However, complaining with no action is useless.

Feeling frustration doesn’t have to be a bad thing. It’s a good indication that something isn’t right in your life. Pay attention to that frustration and try to see where that frustration is coming from. Rather than viewing that frustration in a negative way, let that frustration propel you to higher levels in life. This, I guarantee you, will skyrocket your overall well-being. How to Take Action When Feeling Unmotivated

Who doesn’t have dreams and aspirations in life? I think most of us do. If this is so, then why is it that some people seem to reach their goals in life while others don’t? Is it that there are those who are just lucky? Is it that those who achieve their goals have more talent than others? Is it that it was in their destiny to reach those goals while it was not in the destiny of those who didn’t achieve their goals? I think one of the reasons, because there can be many reasons as to why some achieve their goals while others don’t, lies on feeling unmotivated. If this is the case, then how can one take action when feeling unmotivated?

There are different ways you can approach this. The first one would be to ask yourself what motivates you to want to do whatever it is that you would like to do. The reason for you wanting to take action would need to be strong in order for you to stick with it. When there is emotion attached to whatever it is that you want to do, you are more compelled to stick with whatever it is that you want to do. By attaching emotion to it, you are making your reason strong enough so that you can stick with your decision even when the going gets tough.

Once you figure out what motivates you to take action towards something and you make sure you attached emotion to it, since we are emotional beings and whether we realize it or not, a lot of the decisions that we make are based on how we feel about things, keep reminding yourself what is motivating you to do something. There will be times when the going will get tough and so you will need reminders as to why you decided to do what it is that you are doing in the first place.

Another important factor to remember is that if you rely on feeling motivated in order to take action then you may never start or reach your goals. It is important to remember that motivation is fleeing, therefore, you can’t rely on this. If you want to reach any goal, you need determination and discipline. Motivation is only good at first to get you started but not necessary to keep you going. You’re not always going to feel motivated to do what you need to do. Just like when going to school, you want to have the degree and there are times you don’t feel like writing papers but you know you have to write that paper in order to pass the class and you have to pass the class in order to graduate. Same thing applies to everything else in life.

What does this have to do with your well-being and your life in general? I think this has a lot to do with your well-being and life in general because there are lots of things that many people want but just don’t seem to get motivated to do what they need to do such as losing weight, or eating better to manage an illness they may have or even get the motivation to get the training for a new job. These are just some examples of how feeling unmotivated can interfere with your overall well-being so it is important to know how to overcome it. Your well-being depends on many things and when you let the lack of feeling motivated stand in your way, depending on the circumstances, this can be detrimental to you and your life in general. Therefore, it is important to know that motivation indeed can be fleeing so it is not always reliable. It is your discipline and determination that will count the most.

You Need to Lose In Order to Win

Wouldn’t it be nice that the person that we love loved us back and not have to go through so much hurt when it comes to love? Wouldn’t it be nice not to have to invest so much time nor money in a business when starting out? Wouldn’t it be nice to not have to workout every day and eat right every day for us to see weight loss? Wouldn’t it be nice not to have to go to dozens and dozens of job interviews before finding a job? Gosh, this all sounds exhausting, right?!

One thing we MUST all remember if we want ANYTHING in life is that we need to lose in order to win. “What Aura?! No way! I know there is a better way!” If this is what you are thinking, I’m sorry to disappoint you but it was not me who made up this rule, it was Life who made this rule. In every lose there is a lesson and great things don’t come very quick. Great things like love, a successful business, weight loss, a great career comes with lots of loses because there is great sacrifice involved. Don’t take my word for it, I will give you examples. When starting your own business, there is a lot of money that you have to invest because it’s the money to start the business, the advertising, promoting, education, rent if you have an office space, etc and with all this, there will be lose of money but that lose is gain in the long run, not necessarily in the short term. When you want a career, you need to invest in your education and for those who are doctors, lawyers, psychologists, they know it means thousands and thousands of money that they have to put in before they even succeed financially in their careers. It means most likely going for jobs that won’t pay much now in order for them to be where they want to be. When it comes to love, oh love, this is a big one for many. Those who have found great love I’m pretty sure have had their share of tears, disappointments and suffering before finding their true love. For those who didn’t, good for you, but all those disappointments, for those who have been greatly disappointed in love, they are lessons, yes loses but not so much loses if you consider that those experiences are gains in the long run.

What does this “you need to lose in order to win” have to do with your well-being and life in general? Oh, I dare to say it has so much to do with your well-being and life in general. If you think that the great life you want won’t come with moments of lose, you will be greatly disappointed and most likely you will give up on your dreams of achieving anything when the going gets tough. If you give up on your weight loss journey just because you plateaued or because you are not currently seeing results, you may miss out on some crucial learning that can catapult you to being the person that you want to be! If because you have been “rejected” by people that you like/love you decide to give up on love, you may miss out on recognizing the person that truly is the love of your life! If because you feel that you have invested so much money in your business, spent thousands and thousands of dollars in a business and because you haven’t seen results you give up on your dream of having your own business, you will end up feeling bitterly disappointed, giving up hope on the person that you want to become and you may miss out on being that great person that you truly are!

I think that rather than giving up on what is in your heart, remember that to win there will be some loses, perhaps even huge loses but with every lose comes some gain. It is to your benefit to remember this and to keep this in mind no matter what your goals and dreams are. Losing is not a bad thing. As a matter of fact, if you allow it, losing actually makes you a winner because it takes great courage to be willing to lose in life.

One Main Ingredient To Having The Things You Want In Life

I have been analyzing my life and observing other people’s lives and questioning why is it that other people have certain things while others who deeply desire the same thing don’t have those things they want. Is it that certain people are more deserving of it than others? Could it be that certain people are destined for certain things while others are not? I refuse to believe that something that you deeply desire is not meant for you because I believe if it was placed in your heart it’s because God or the Universe or whatever your higher being is placed it there for you and it’s already yours.

I have been reading lately on how to find your soulmate because it’s a topic that interests me at the moment and one of the things that many authors say is that you have to set the intention. Set the intention? Now this caught my eye and I found myself pondering on this statement and I came to the conclusion that this not only applies to finding your soulmate, this also applies to everything else as well.

An example of setting the intention to find your soulmate is by declaring that you will meet your soulmate and making room in your life for love. You act as if you already have that soulmate in your life. For example, you buy a bed that two people can sleep on. I’ve noticed that when men are ready to settle down and marry, they are already buying a home or at least saving up to buy a home in order to have something to offer their future wife. In their mind they already have that wife they are searching for.

If losing weight is your goal, for example, you are going to first set the intention and imagine the body you want. You start to live and eat the way someone with that body would. You will have the discipline that it takes to reach your goal. It’s not enough wanting that body, you have to do what it takes. You set the intention.

If starting a business is your goal, the wanting to start a business is easy but it is not enough. Who doesn’t want to have their own business?! You have to first set the intention! You do that by knowing that it takes work and doing the work that it takes. You already have your business in mind and you take the steps necessary in order to make what you have in your mind come true.

Awww, setting the intention. I couldn’t help but realize how true this is for love but also for everything else in life. Unless you set that intention and get right to it, you won’t accomplish anything.

What does setting the intention have to do with well-being? It has all to do with well-being because a very important aspect to your well-being is how you feel about your life and feeling a sense of achievement that you have accomplished things in life.  Who doesn’t want to enjoy good health? Who doesn’t want to grow financially? Who doesn’t want to be all that they are meant to be?! However, to be able to feel satisfied in all areas of your life, you have to set the intention for what you want in life. You have to set the intention for love, you have to set the intention that you will eat right and exercise, you have to set the intention to get your finances straight, etc.

For your well-being, anything that you set out to do, first start by setting the intention, be clear about what you want and you will be surprised at the changes you might start seeing in your life.

It’s Never Too Late

Many times people may think that because of their age or because they have an illness that it is too late for them to eat right or to start exercising or to be the person that they want to be. It breaks my heart when someone thinks that because they are diabetic or because they have an illness that they can just continue their unhealthy lifestyle because in their mind they are thinking what’s the use if they are already sick. Because they are “old” (I write old in quotation marks because really, what is old if you are as old as you feel?! Even 50 is still young nowadays!) that it is too late to go back to school or do anything they want. Well, I believe it’s never too late to be healthy, never too late to exercise, never too late to learn better ways of living, it’s never too late to eat right, never too late to be the person you want to be.

I’m a strong believer that if we want to change our life for the better, now is the perfect time to do it. Not later, not tomorrow, not in a week. NOW! Because if you wait till later, if you wait till tomorrow, you will never do what it is that you want to do. You will never make the changes that you want to make. You will just keep waiting and waiting because there will always be a tomorrow. This is why I believe that the moment to act is now. So what if now means that you are 30 or 40 or 50 or 60. As long as there is life, there is hope, like we say in Spanish. Especially when it comes to eating right and exercising it is never too late. So what if you have an illness, you can actually help your body heal FASTER by eating right. And I also believe we don’t have to wait to be sick in order to take care of our bodies.

It is never too late to do anything you need to do to have a better life nor is it too late for you to be the person you want to be. It’s just a matter of taking the necessary steps now, not later, in order for you to be and do what you want. If you can remember that as long as there is life, there is hope, you will see how it truly is never too late for anything.

Don’t Try to Be Superman or Superwoman

Many of you may have noticed that I have been away from blogging for a while. Well, there was a reason for that. I have been working on several projects that were taking up my time that I needed to take some time off but that doesn’t mean that I forgot about you all.

Having many goals is great because it gives you things to look forward to and something to strive for. However, I can also tell you that trying to do so much all at once will exhaust you faster than you can possibly imagine. So in today’s post, I would like to encourage you, for your well-being, despite all the goals that you may have, don’t try to be superman or superwoman.

This is not to say that you shouldn’t go after your goals or that you should slack on your goals. On the contrary, if you want to be able to reach your goals successfully, you need to not try to do it all at once because rather than add to your well-being, that will take away from your well-being.

“But Aura, there is so much that I would like to accomplish and do” you may say. There is nothing wrong with wanting to do so much and accomplish a lot. The problem is when you want to do it all at once, trying to be superman or superwoman.

My one piece of advice for the beginning of this year is to think of a theme for this year. What is one main theme that you would like to focus on? For instance, mine for this year is weight loss. Yes, ever since my dad’s passing, it has been quite stressful for me and I have been grieving and I did put on some pounds so one of my main themes is self-care which includes in this case weight loss.

Then think of some other things that are also priorities for you that you would like to accomplish and ask yourself why. Write this all down. Why do you want to accomplish this and what does it mean to you? Think about what is one thing that you can do each day to get closer to that goal. This way you know what you can’t compromise with.

So I will give you an example and I will use myself as an example. Since self-care, which includes weight loss, is a priority and theme for me this year, this will include several things such as planning my meals, working out, minimizing stress (stress can cause weight gain), among other things. So as you can see, it’s not like weight loss is the only focus here. There are other things that I will be taking care of because I have that goal of losing weight. By having all these priorities straight, I will know what I can add to my life or take away from my life, what to add to my calender and what not to add.

This will also mean that I will not try to be superwoman. Whatever I can’t get done, I can’t get done and that’s it. By having a main theme for myself, this eliminates me trying to be superwoman and trying to do it all and the benefits of this are many. You avoid stressing yourself too much. You avoid getting sick since stress can suppress the immune system. You avoid feeling frustrated since at times having too much to do can frustrate us and the list goes on.

My highest recommendation when having new years resolution, once again, is to have a theme for this year. What do you want this year to be about for you? What is one top thing that you would like to accomplish? What does accomplishing this goal entails? Write this all down and even know and write down your why. Knowing your why will be your driving force for those times when you don’t feel like doing whatever it is that you need to be doing in order to achieve your goals. Also, having this theme in mind will help avoid you trying to be superman or superwoman.

Whatever You Do, Make Sure It Makes You Feel Good

So many times we let ourselves be consumed with obligations and things to appear a certain way that there is one thing that goes down the other way and that is our joy. When we care more about the destination than our journey, when we care more about the outside or appearances more than the inside and what is really going on within, this is when we can lose ourselves. In today’s post, I would like to encourage you that no matter what it is that you do, make sure it makes you feel good.

Why? Because living in the present is what matters. When you make sure that no matter what it is that you do, you do it because it makes me feel good, then you will certainly live in the present. Living in the present is all you have, that’s what matters most. That’s where your jewels lie. I would like to clarify that this doesn’t mean that you live carelessly and not think about the future. This is about having balance. You can still think about the future, make plans to reach certain goals but in the process, make sure that you are enjoying every moment of it. When you do, this is what creates balance in your life.

When you make sure that no matter what it is that you do, you do it because it makes you feel good, you make good use of every time that passes by. Your day won’t feel long, your goals won’t feel so far out of reach, and you will be living the law of attraction. I always heard that the way the law of attraction works is that you need to care about the way you are feeling more than what it is that you want. I must admit, I never understood this and it only frustrated me. It wasn’t until recent that I realized how our jewels truly are in the present. When you keep that in mind, that’s when life becomes more delicious.

When you make sure that no matter what it is that you do, you do it because it makes you feel good, you will be vibrating at a much higher vibrational energy. That is exactly what speeds up the process of the law of attraction. We are all energy. Things flow where energy goes. Good things come when there is good energy. Where there is bad energy, the good energy is repelled. We are more attractive when we have good energy. We are more attractive when we feel good. Life is just overall more delicious when our energy is good.

When you make sure that no matter what it is that you do, you do it because it makes you feel good, you become more centered and more connected with yourself. Being centered is what allows you to make better decisions in life because you are coming from a grounded place. Being centered keeps you strong even when things around you may seem a bit shaky. You feeling good is your NATURAL state. Feeling good is NORMAL. Nowadays with all the things we see on the news, it seems normal to feel bad, to be constantly anxious and depressed and so on and that is NOT our natural state. When this is the case, there is a disconnection with the self. Remember that you are JOY, LOVE, ABUNDANCE, HAPPINESS and WORTHY. Yes you are!

I can’t emphasize enough how important it is that no matter what you do, you do it because it makes you feel good. You DESERVE to feel good everyday. This doesn’t mean that there won’t be days where you won’t feel happy but you are not meant to feel down every single day. If you have a goal and it requires you to work extra hours, make sure you enjoy those extra hours at work. Enjoy your time at work. Enjoy your colleagues. Enjoy your customers. Do your best to view the jewels that you have in this very moment. Your well-being depends on it.

Call BS on BS

For those who don’t understand what I mean with “BS”, that means bullshit. So on today’s post, I would like to write about the importance of calling BS on BS.

Many times the reason we keep doing the crazy things we do, we accept less than what we deserve, we keep getting more of what we don’t want, etc. is because we are not willing to call BS on BS. This is extremely important for your well-being because this will allow you to be all that you are meant to be because you are being honest with yourself.

So what are the BS in life? The BS can be your excuses for why you are not doing what you know you are supposed to be doing, your excuses as to why you settle for relationships that are below what you actually deserve. The BS can even be your limiting beliefs and the story that you tell yourself. Many times we don’t even realize that it is our limiting beliefs about ourselves, what we think we deserve, us holding on to an idea of something that we think needs to be a certain way and even the way that we view ourselves are what block us from having a great life.

It is for this reason that I would like to encourage you to sit with yourself and analyze what are your BS in your life that are holding you back. Think about this for a minute. Is it something that you are holding on to? Why are you holding on to this? Do you have an idea of how something needs to be in your life? Is this idea that you have in your mind holding you back? Is it blocking you from seeing all the other options that life has for you? Think about what are the things that are currently not working for you at the moment.

I can almost guarantee you that all these things have one thing in common and that is you. This is because YOU are the common denominator in all this. You are the one who creates your own life. You are the own who holds the key to changing all this. You are the one who can make your life into whatever you want it to be. Your well-being depends on you and nothing else. Your well-being depends on no one else. It is for this very reason that it is important to call BS on BS because doing so will bring to light the things you need to be paying attention to so that you can create the massive changes that you are looking for.

What calling BS on BS will do is that it will help you be so honest with yourself to the point that you will be able to appreciate parts of you that you didn’t appreciate before. It will help you see how you have attracted into your life the things that you have attracted. It will help you see what areas of your life and of yourself you may need to work on.

I can tell you from personal experience that this can be a challenge at times. It can be a challenge because it can be tough to be so brutally honest with yourself and admit the things that perhaps you don’t want to admit to yourself. I have been so fortunate to have a mentor that has helped me do this and realize how I have been using my own excuses to justify why certain things didn’t work the way I wanted it to work. It is because of this fortune that I would like to share this nugget with you so you too can do the same for yourself.

The Danger of Waiting Until You Feel Like It

It would be great to wake up everyday feeling energized, pumped up and ready to do all the things that we must do in order to have the things and the life that we want. I believe that feeling this way is possible but it does require effort. Even effort is something that there are times we may struggle with because the truth of the matter is that we may not always feel the energy to put in the effort that is required.

There is a danger in waiting to feel like doing something that if that doesn’t get changed, the life that you want will still continue to be a dream. The problem with waiting until you feel like it is that not always are you going to feel like doing the things that you need to do in order to have the life that you want. Think about it. Do you always feel like going to work? Not really. Few people can say that they actually look forward to going to work. When you went to school or if you are currently going to school, do you always feel like studying? Not really. The reality is that there will be many things that you will not feel like doing but if you want to have the things you want, you must push through and do those things.

Waiting until you feel like doing something will delay you from having the things that you want. The one thing you can’t have back is time. Once time is gone, it is gone. The more you wait until you feel like doing something, the more time you will be wasting. What is needed most in order to get the things that you want is discipline.

Motivation is needed to get things started but you can’t rely on motivation to keep on going. This is where discipline comes into play. What can help with discipline is learning to keep your eye on the prize, especially when you are feeling lazy to do something. So how can you keep your eye on the prize at all times? Find what works for you according to how you function. Have a photo that reminds you of why you are doing what you are doing. Constantly remind yourself who you are wanting to be. Reminders are necessary for us not to forget our why behind our actions and they can keep us going when we want to give up.

Learn to see the lessons that you are getting from everything that you are doing. Even the most boring tasks there is so much you can gain. Nothing, absolutely nothing needs to go to waste and this includes the boring tasks. Everything serves for the purpose of growth.

Waiting…..there is a time to wait but not when it comes to getting certain things like waiting until you feel like doing something. This kind of waiting can be detrimental to your overall well-being because it can delay your happiness in every sense of the word. Waiting until you feel like it delays you from being the person that you are supposed to be. Waiting until you feel like it can make you have regrets in the future. So if you have been waiting until you feel like doing something, I would like to encourage you to think about the things that you have been delaying from doing because you have been waiting until you feel like doing them. Think about these things and if the objective of doing these things serves a higher purpose, then don’t delay in taking action.

Do Things That You Can Be Proud Of

In today’s post, I would like to encourage you to do things that you can be proud of and to focus on that very pride that you want to feel whenever you want to do something.

Why focus on the pride? Pride is a great feeling and it is a feeling that can keep us going. The reason why I encourage you to focus on the pride is because there WILL be times when you will feel lazy to do something. There WILL be times when life will get in the way. The things that you may want to do may scare you. That’s just the way it is because we are human. However, if you do your best to focus on the pride part, this can encourage you to do things despite you not wanting to do them and despite things getting in the way.

Also, because it is the beginning of a new year, it’s easy to create new years resolution and not keep up with the things you have to do in order to accomplish your goals. It can be easy to be distracted, especially in today’s world. It becomes crucial to be focused for your own well-being and knowing that you want to have things to be proud of can push you further.

Do things that you can be proud of despite not feeling like it. Know that those moments do come so think of ways that you can overcome that feeling. For me, it is what I am recommending to you in today’s post- I remind myself of how proud I want to feel about myself.

Do things that you can be proud of despite life getting in the way. Ahh life, life sometimes does have its moments. Think about where do you want to be a month from now. Think about what you want to be able to say that you accomplished. If you have to, find an accountability partner. This can help you keep going even when things can get in the way. When my dad was very ill at the hospital, it was challenging for me to eat healthy because I was sad with all that was going on. It was the Sugar Buster program that helped me keep going even when I didn’t feel like eating right.

Do things that you can be proud of despite the fear. I can tell you from personal experience that the more you want out of life, the more fear you will feel and that’s because you are stepping into the unknown. Feel the fear and remind yourself that the fear you feel is also excitement masked in fear. Remember that fear is normal because you are stepping into the unknown.

It’s important to always do things that you can feel proud of and this can be big or small. It can be something like drinking more water if you hardly drink water to daring to do something that you have always dreamed to do. There is always a start to everything and challenges will arise along the way. However, for your overall well-being, it is important to learn from those challenges and grow. Nothing that ever happens has to go to waste. I encourage you that every day you work on doing something that you can be proud of and you’re more than welcome to share in this post what have you done that you are proud of.
